Yet when a sizeable portion of the playerbase complains about any new addition, they are shot down by the developers and high elo players. Items are considered good when they don't effect winrate too much and have a good pickrate. A champion (a new character you can play) is considered good on release if their winrate is about 50/50 and have a good pickrate. This is something that both the community and the developers tend to acknowledge, at least implicitly. I would heavily argue that League is not a fun game. It's also very flashy which makes it fun to watch at a competetive level. doing cool manuevers, hitting enemies with abilities that you have to aim, timing a string of skills to be as efficient with damage as possible) and a mental level (Strategy, long term decision making, adapting your smaller goals to give you a better chance of winning, knowing when to start a fight or group). There is a lot of depth to this game wherein you get to challenge yourself on both a mechanical level (i.e. League, as a spectator and competetive game, probably ranks high for most people and is largely the intent with the developers. I think your perspective on what makes a good game really matters. Coming in late, but I've been trying to solidify my thoughts on league for a while. ![]()
